WHC and Quiltting
Making the Arts, crafts and storytelling of the American West relevant is the mission of the Western Heritage Arts Center. Quilting is a rich art form that has been a vital outlet for creative expression since the inventions of needle, thread and fabric.
Our focus in 2010 will be on teaching hand-work techniques as well as putting a modern spin on traditional designs. We're all hard at work on projects.
- Learn the skills to create your own family heirlooms
- Yellowstone quilt patterns and kits ( An ever growing line)
- Heirloom quilt techniques
- Reproduction of heirloom quilts
- Heritage quilt projects
- Impromptu quilt shows
- Comfortable and friendly, sit and sew atmosphere
If you are already a quilter, we offer hand piecing and applique techniques with contemporary and traditional designs. And sewing machines are always welcome!
If you are new to quilting, you will learn the basics in a hands-on class.
If you are visiting West Yellowstone with a fisherman* we offer sessions for ladies looking for a wonderful creative experience out of the rain, wind and fish guts
The Center will host multi day Quilt events year round including the "off-season"!
* or hunter, or snowmobiler, hiker, packer etc.
