In what used to be the town's school, the Pinecone Playhouse is in the middle of the Madison Crossing Shopping Complex.
The Pinecone Playhouse is a project of Western Heritage Arts Center, Inc. An arts and humanites organization developing an educational and entertainment facility south of West Yellowstone, Montana. The project is designed to tell the story of the American West from the points-of-view of modern western Americans from both Northern Plains Indian tribes and the European immigrants.
Western Heritage Arts Center is an ambitious and visionary project that intends to showcase the rich storytelling heitage and cultural assets of the peoples who share a land as big as the West.
Besides a place where terrific family-friendly entertainment can be enjoyed, Pinecone Playhouse is where Western Heritage Arts Center develops it's original content, and refines arts-education programs for youth and adults.
Western Heritage Arts Center is artists, writers, musicians, historians, actors, scholars and people of all walks of life and heritage who share a love and a bond with this land we call the West. We are a celebration of the best of who we were, but more importantly, we are a voice in the cultural dialogue of this nation about where we go from here. We strive in telling the story of the west to make relevant the connectedness that our American Indian brothers and sisters have always with the land, and all the creatures we share this land we all love so much.
